However, while Cage may already be a dad to two, there is one thing he is really looking forward to when it comes to his newest baby that he can no longer do with his older boys. While talking with Access Hollywood, Cage revealed that he was “extremely excited” to be a dad again, but specifically, he’s excited about being a parent to a young child again.

“My boys are all grown up, and I miss going to the toy store. I miss singing lullabies and rocking in the rocking chair,” he said. “I’m looking forward to getting back to that.”

Shibata is Cage’s 5th wife. The couple wed on February 16th, 2021 in a “very small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.” Shibata is also an actress.

At the time of their wedding, Cage confirmed their marriage to People, saying, “It’s true, and we are very happy.” They later confirmed their pregnancy with a statement through their rep, saying, “The parents-to-be are elated!”

On his brother’s radio show, Nicolas Cage explained how they got engaged. “We were really happy together and we were really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said, ‘Look, I wanna marry you,’ and we got engaged on FaceTime,” he said.

Cage has also shared the names they chose for their new baby. While they haven’t announced whether they are expecting a boy or a girl, they have one option ready for both, Akira Francesco for a boy and Lennon Augie for a girl.

“Augie was my father’s nickname. And my uncle [Francis Ford Coppola] has decided to change his name to Francesco,” Cage explained to GQ before describing the ultrasound photo as “so sweet. It’s like a little edamame. A little bean.”

How sweet is that?
