Katy Perry is getting honest about what it’s like to be pregnant while much of the world remains under stay-at-home orders. And it’s because of COVID-19 that the singer is glad she isn’t giving birth tomorrow.
In an interview with Extra, Perry opened up about the ups and downs of being pregnant and quarantined at home with her family. And how different it has all been for her. “I’m doing very well, all things considered. It’s a one-day-at-a-time situation, always being open to the unknown and exploring options.”
“Even though I can get highly annoyed by being quarantined with my family in close quarters — I’m used to jet-setting around and being really busy — now I feel we’ve laid a new foundation within our family,” Perry said of her time in quarantine. “There’s a bond that’s even stronger.”
Pregnant and Quarantined: Katy Perry Says She’s ‘Doing Well All Thing Considered’
After first announcing her pregnancy in March after debuting a new song and music video for ‘Never Worn White,’ Perry also revealed that she and her fiancé Orlando Bloom are expecting a baby girl, Mamas Uncut previously reported.
Perry went on to say in her interview with Extra that while they still “have some horrible days where I want to cry,” she “believe when we look back at this, for myself, it will be this beautiful bond that we created.”
However, Katy also joked that “I’m grateful that I’m not giving birth tomorrow.” It’s unclear exactly what month the singer is expecting her first child, but it is known that the baby girl is expected to make her arrival during the summer months.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, she had planned to tell her mom about her pregnancy via the label on a wine bottle. But her mom found the wine bottle before she could reveal the news in the way she had originally hoped.
“My mom, it was so weird, I didn’t get a chance to do it. She just came over and was looking at my wine – and she never does – and she was like, ‘What is this?’ And that’s how it happened,” she continued.
The soon-to-be mom’s latest quarantine shenanigans had her dressing up as a hand sanitizer bottle as she filmed the latest episode of American Idol from her home. Well at these she’s keeping her self busy.
