Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Aren’t Planning on Having a Big Family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently put the rumor that they’d like a large family to rest. Harry recently sat down for a conversation with Dr. Jane Goodall for the September issue of British Vogue, which was guest-edited by Meghan. During their time together, the Duke of Sussex shared his thoughts on nature, conservation, and family.

Based on their chat, it sounds like the royal couple is considering no more than one sibling for their son, Archie Harrison.

“I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question,” shared Harry. “But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”

Dr. Goodall chimed in, “Not too many!”

To which Harry replied, “Two maximum! But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

The primatologist also scored a snuggle with the royal baby during her time with the couple. It’s no surprise that she only had kind things to say about little Archie. “He’s very cute and very gentle,” Dr. Goodall shared.
