Prince Philip’s Will Is To Remain Secret For At Least A Total Of 90 Years

Reportedly, Prince Philip‘s will is to set to remain a secret for at least 90 years to protect the “dignity and standing” of the Queen, the High Court has ruled.

It is common that when a senior member of the Royal Family passes, the courts are asked to seal their wills.

There will be a private process in 90 years to decide if it can be unsealed.

The hearing into the application to seal the will was also held in private in July by Sir Andrew McFarlane.

He heard arguments from lawyers representing the duke’s estate as well as the attorney general and the government’s chief legal adviser. The ruling was published on Thursday.

Prince William and Prince Harry‘s did not make nice when they attended their late grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral.

Robert Lacey, author of Battle of Brothers and consultant to Netflix’s The Crown, penned in a recent article that while many hoped the funeral “would bring the warring brothers together in an atmosphere of reflection,” the end result didn’t quite hit the mark.

While the two did speak in a public chat outside of St. George’s Chapel that day, it wasn’t long before the two broke out in an argument “within minutes of the siblings getting inside the castle and beyond camera vision,” according to the royal historian.

“They started quarreling again,” he added.

“There they were, at each other’s throats as fiercely as ever,” a friend of the family told Lacey. “The rage and anger between those two has grown so incredibly deep. Too many harsh and wounding things have been said.”

“There was no reconciliation, and no brotherly sit-down or ‘mini summit’ following Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17,” Lacey wrote, later adding, “The conflict between Diana’s two bitterly divided sons does not seem likely to end any time soon.”

“Everyone was optimistic,” a source close to the royal household told PEOPLE earlier this week of the pair’s reunion at Philip’s funeral, “but nothing really happened.” Added another close source: “There was not really any time to build bridges.”

The rift between the brothers began when William expressed concern about how Harry’s relationship with then-girlfriend Meghan Markle was evolving prior to their May 2018 wedding. Their relationship continues to prove rocky.
