It’s Jack Brooksbank‘s first birthday as a father and Princess Eugenie celebrated that fact with a series of never-before-seen images of her husband and infant son, August.
In honor of Jack turning 34 on Monday, the Princess shared three new photos on her Instagram page. As you might suspect, baby August steals the spotlight.

“You are exceptional.. Happy Birthday my love,” the royal wrote to her husband.
Two of the photos show Jack cuddling with their son August Philip Hawke, who was born on February 9. In the first photo, Jack looks as the camera as he cradles his son on his chest, showing off a personalized sweater that has his name embroidered on it. Another image shows Jack carrying a bundled-up August in a baby carrier.

The final, and most idyllic photo, shows Jack from the back walking along a lake with flowers blooming all around.
August is already the star of Princess Eugenie’s Instagram account, appearing in several posts over the last few months. He pops up in images on the account for special occasions like UK Mother’s Day and Eugenie’s birthday. He always looks dashing!
Princess Eugenie and Jack had their first outing since becoming parents at her grandfather Prince Philip‘s funeral on April 17. They joined Eugenie’s older sister Princess Beatrice, her sister’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and other members of the royal family in saying goodbye to Queen Elizabeth‘s husband of over seven decades.
The younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Princess Eugenie, shared a touching tribute to Prince Philip, who she called simply “Grandpa,” on Instagram.
“I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy,” she wrote at the time. “I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day. I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer.”
Princess Eugenie honored her grandfather before his death by giving her son the middle name of Philip.

“On his grandfather’s birthday weekend, thinking of my grandfather, we are introducing our little boy,” Eugenie wrote in an Instagram story. “He is named after his great grandfather and both of his great x5 grandfathers.”
