This is not the first time Charles contracted COVID-19. According to reports, Charles also texted positive in March 2020 when the pandemic first began.

Charles and his wife Camilla are both fully vaccinated and boosted. It is believed the Queen is also fully vaccinated, although, it was only ever confirmed that Elizabeth received her first dose.

On Sunday, the Queen released a statement in honor of the historic milestone that she wished for Camilla to be acknowledged as the Queen Consort.

“When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service,” the Queen wrote.
