Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are definitely, definitely not returning to the Royal Family.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family,” Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement.

Queen Elizabeth added that due to stepping away from their Royal work, it will not be possible for Harry and Meghan “to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.”

And as such, they will be stripped of their “honorary military appointments and Royal patronages,” which will go back to the Queen for redistribution to other working royals later.

The statement ends as if the couple had died: “While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family.”

Overall? The message felt cold and distant — how very royal.

And to add insult to injury, let’s not forget about how Meghan Markle’s name is not on Archie’s birth certificate…

According to The Sun, initially, Archie’s birth certificate referred to Meghan Markle as “Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex” but a few weeks later, “Rachel Meghan” was removed, leaving just the title “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.”

The discovery of this name change sparked rumors that the act was a petty snub against her — revealing just how little respect she was given during her time at the Royal Palace.

“The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials,” Markle’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement on Sunday, January 31.
