If only we could all get paid like YouTube stars. The top digital celebs of the year are making major cash by creating content that their audiences crave. The craziest part? One, Ryan Kaji, is only 8-years-old!
Covering topics like games, toys, beauty, and more, these vloggers make up Forbes’ list of the highest-paid YouTube stars. Coming in at the top of the list is 8-year-old Ryan Kaji, a kid who has been opening toys and learning/teaching important concepts on video for the last five years.

Offering a new type of celebrity, YouTubers like Ryan invite viewers into their world in an innovative and intimate way. Ryan reportedly made $26 million in 2019 by sharing videos on his channel “Ryan’s World” of things like science experiments and egg surprises. He is credited with helping to launch the “unboxing” craze by unwrapping toys on-camera.
The star isn’t stopping at YouTube. His brand is expanding as he recently landed his own Nickelodeon show, introduced toy and clothing lines, and inked a lucrative Hulu contract.
The Texas-based star invites his more than 23 million YouTube subscribers to learn about topics ranging from tsunamis to pancake art. His “Huge Eggs Surprise Toys Challenge” was named one of the 50 most viewed videos on all of YouTube with an astounding 1.9 billion views.
This is Ryan’s second year in a row topping the highest earners list, beating out YouTube celebs like 5-year-old Anastasia Radzinskaya and the stunt-loving guys behind Dude Perfect. The popular channel, previously called Ryan ToysReview, earned $22 million in 2018.
