As Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie releases a faith-based book that has since sold out, she is also opening up about becoming a mom in her 40s.
While talking with People, Guthrie admits she’s “so grateful for my blessings. I really can’t get over it — I’ll never get over it.”
Guthrie, who has been a lead anchor on Today for the last decade, became a mom for the first time when she was 43 years old. A title Guthrie said she lost hope of ever holding until she met her husband Michael Feldman in 2014.
Guthrie and Feldman welcomed their first child into the world that same year, a daughter named Vale. Two years later, they welcomed a son, Charley.
“I got to have babies long past the time that anyone would really be hopeful, [and] I had long given up hope,” Guthrie told Today, adding how “delighted and overjoyed” she is to be a mom of two.
However, Guthrie admits she sensitive to others when talking about how grateful she is to have blessed with such good fortune in her life. “My life has been so surprising and wonderful, because there were times when I didn’t think there was much hope for me.”
“I’m so grateful, but I’m always mindful of talking about that too, because we all have moments in our lives where we don’t feel that the thing we wanted to happen has happened, or we don’t feel that we have been blessed,” Guthrie added.

Guthrie told People she’s enjoying watching Vale and Charley come “into their own personalities. “But the greatest thing is that they’re so themselves.”
“They’re stronger and more confident, more self-assured and empathetic,” she adds. “And I just think they’re amazing creatures. I’m so lucky to get to be their mom. It’s such a learning experience.”
Sadly, Savannah Guthrie also had to share a message to her fans after her book gained insane popularity. “PSA ????- so many fakes out there! I didn’t write anything other than the book Mostly What God Does – no workbooks, no studies, no nothing!”
