In the video, Shawn is seen dancing happily with her baby girl Drew Hazel. She shared the moment, along with the caption, “My favorite… dancing with my girl @drewhazeleast (yessss mommy shamers… I am sure there is something I am doing very wrong ) #momlife.”
Since giving birth last fall, Shawn has had to deal with mom-shamers offering unwanted criticism of her parenting skills on Instagram. For example, in December, she was mom-shamed because she shared a photo of Drew not wearing pants.
Shawn Johnson East and her husband, Andrew East, have already dealt with their fair share of mom-shaming. But for the most part, things have been good for the new parents.
Shawn and her football star husband, Andrew East, welcomed their first child in October and are clearly madly in love with their new addition.
Not letting any of the negativity get her down, the gold medalist has shared many of her daughter’s milestones on social media.
The family recently celebrated baby Drew’s first Christmas and the excited mama even wrapped gifts for her baby.
“Happy Holidays from The Easts! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS HER FIRST CHRISTMAS! We are so freaking excited! Hahah we even wrapped gifts for her and put them under the tree… and of course… like weirdos we will open them obnoxiously in front of her as if we don’t know what they are.”
The new mom has also been open about the challenges she has faced surrounding breastfeeding and exclusive pumping (EP).
She recently let fans in on her routine, sharing a video on her Instagram story of herself sitting on the bathroom floor while pumping in the middle of the night. She added, “EP life means never a full night of sleep.”
We can’t wait to see more real and honest moments in the life of this Olympian mom, who clearly has no time for the haters.
