Three Children Reported Dead After Shooter Targets Tennessee Elementary School

New reports have confirmed that at least three children are dead after a shooter opened fire inside a Tennessee Elementary School, according to NBC News.

According to the Nashville Metro Police, the school shooting took place during the morning hours of March 27. The incident, which took place at The Covenant School, was first reported on social media around 10:30 a.m.

As the Metro Nashville PD shared on Twitter, responding police officers engaged with the shooter, who was ultimately gunned down. 

A spokesperson for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, John Howser, revealed that 3 “pediatric patients were transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, all having suffered gunshot wounds.” Sadly, Howser further revealed that “all three were pronounced dead after arrival.”

While the names and ages of the victims have not yet been revealed, The Covenant School caters to students from pre-school to sixth grade. The identity of the shooter has also not yet been revealed.
