One of the most recent sketches performed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live is one of its most relatable mom sketches yet.
Remember flipping through the catalog with your mom, picking out that special Christmas outfit to wear on the big day? And do you remember that outfit coming in the mail and it being the most uncomfortable and itchiest thing you’ve ever put on your body?

Well, apparently the SNL writers do too, and they made light of that inevitable moment when kids scream and cry because their festive holiday looks are either too itchy or too hot.
SNL Nails Relatable Christmas Outfit Sketch
The video first starts off like a typical ad for Macy’s. However, it takes a turn when the catalog-esque families remove the filter.
“And for your little ones, Macy’s has the festive fashions that will have them saying, ‘It’s too hot… It itches!’ ‘Tis the season for wrestling your wiggly little monster into thick winter clothes.”
The SNL sketch then takes aim at the shiny black shoes most little girls live in as a youngster that aren’t comfortable in the least. “Ow, my shoes hurt,” the little girl says. “Welcome to being a woman, Kylie,” the mom then replies.
It also captures the exact arguments parents tend to get into during the holiday season. After going back and forth, one wife threatens to call her mom and tell her that they won’t be attending her party, to which the husband responds saying, “Oh no, and miss your brother getting drunk and asking to borrow money?”
And believe it or not, the sketch just gets funnier from there. Watch the full clip below:

However, perhaps the most relatable line from the sketch is at the very end, when the narrator says, “Clothes They’ll Hate Create the Memories You’ll Love.” And how incredibly true is that?
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your grumpy little ones.
