Along with being a mother of three, the owner of a boutique, and the star of Jersey Shore, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi also the host of a podcast called, It’s Happening With Snooki and Joey.
Snooki first became a household name when MTV’s Jersey Shore premiered 10 years ago. But after being the star of its many seasons, Snooki says she’s ready to step away from the limelight.

Snooki Is Ready to Step Away From Jersey Shore
In a statement she shared on her podcast, Snooki explained that there are “reasons why I came to this decision. It’s definitely a hard decision.” She continued:
“I love you so much and don’t hate me for my decision, but I have to do what’s best for me at the moment. And I am retiring from Jersey Shore. I am not coming back to Jersey Shore for season four if there is one. I just can’t do it anymore. Like, literally, leaving my kids to film it is really, really hard on me. I try and quit every single day. The poor producers are like, ‘Dude, are you going to quit this time?'”
During her time on Jersey Shore, Snooki met the love her life Jionni LaValle and the pair married in 2014. They are also the proud parents of three children, 7-year-old Lorenzo, 5-year-old Giovanni, and 6-month-old Angelo.
And while going out to partying multiple times a week may have been her prerogative in years past, Snooki admits that’s not her vibe anymore.
“It’s just not my life anymore. And I want to be home with the kids. I don’t mind here or there going to a dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard for me to leave the kids and film the show. That’s one reason.”
However, that isn’t the only reason. Snooki also said she wants to step away from the show because of the death threats she receives on a regular basis and the daily drama amongst the rest of the cast.
She says when the show first began, it was never supposed to be housemate against housemate, but that’s what it’s become in recent seasons.
“So for me, I don’t want that. And I’m not leaving my kids days on end to film this show when that’s the result of it. I just don’t like the turnout of it and I don’t like the person I’m portrayed as. This is getting a little too much. I just need to do what’s best for me right now and right now I’m just not comfortable filming that show anymore with the direction it’s going, with all the drama and getting death threats and getting death threats to my children… over this freaking reality show that’s not even that serious.”

Snooki concluded that it’s in her best interest, her family’s best interest, and the best interest of her other professional endeavors that she step away from the show.
It’s unclear where the other castmates stand, whether they agree with Snooki or not. She is far from the only cast member with children. So only time will tell what the fate of the Jersey Shore will be.
