Currently, you can find the acting dream team in Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez on Hulu. The talented trio currently stars in the hit Hulu series Only Murders In the Building.

However, in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, legendary actor and comedian Steve Martin shared what his future plans are after his Hulu show inevitably comes to an end. And his answer is breaking his fans’ hearts.

“When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others,” Martin told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m not going to seek other movies. I don’t want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it.”

Now 76, turning 77 on August 14, Martin has had quite a fulfilling career in Hollywood. Since 1968, the actor has become one of the most recognizable and sought-after superstars.

And while he’s feeling accomplished with his professional life, he is now ready to turn his focus to his personal life, as well. “I have a family life that’s really fun,” Martin said of his loved ones.

“To film a movie now, to go someplace else to live, I’m not willing to do that anymore. I can’t disappear for three months.”

However, while this may sound like a retirement announcement, and although he is adamant about no longer taking stand-up gigs either, Martin admits he’s not ready to call it “retirement” just yet.

“My wife [Anne Stringfield] keeps saying, ‘You always say you’re going to retire and then you always come up with something,'” Martin said. “I’m really not interested in retiring. I’m not. But I would just work a little less. Maybe.”

Along with being a husband, Martin is also a father to one daughter, Mary Martin.

And we can’t help but wonder if maybe Martin has a plan to enter the world of Broadway. After all, his reluctance to call it a retirement, coupled with the fact that he only needs a Tony to complete his EGOT status, has us wondering if maybe his eyes are on that prize!

An EGOT is when an entertainer wins all four major awards, which include an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. Currently, Martin only has the first three.
