A 40-year-old teacher from Florida has been accused of having sex with her son’s friend “several hundred times” over the course of a year.
In November, a guidance counselor at the school saw explicit texts between the pair and anonymously reported them to the Department of Children and Families. The unnamed teenager told authorities that he’d been having sex with Susan Weddle for more than a year. According to CBS12, the boy told police that Weddle was his only sexual partner and he believed that he loved her.

Susan Weddle, 40, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with an underage student.
Weddle was arrested last month and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, sexual assault and using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, according to records from the Escambia County Jail.
Weddle resigned from her position at with the Escambia County School District following the arrest. This is not the first time Weddle has been investigated for having a sexual relationship with a minor.
Susan Weddle was investigated on a similar charge more than a year ago,
“There was another investigation regarding an allegation she had sex with a minor a year and a half ago. However, that investigation was thoroughly conducted, all the leads were exhausted. I reviewed the report and the officers were unable to determine if a crime had been committed,” said Florida State Attorney Bill Eddins.
Now, Eddins says he will push for Weddle to go to prison for up to 35 years.

According to reports, the two began a sexual relationship after the teenager and Weddle’s son, who is the same age, attended a party. The two boys came back to Weddle’s house after party and were drunk and the teen and Weddle had sex for the first time.
Weddle is currently being held on $150,000 bond and will next appear in court on December 26.
