The 5 Best Body-Positive Moments from NYFW

New York Fashion Week previewed what trends we can expect this Fall and Winter. There were plenty of fabulous fashion-forward looks, but the top look of the week was body-positivity. This year, more than ever before, it seems like we got a better diversity of body types on the runways.

Of course, Chromat was absolutely bringing the size inclusivity! But, we got to see some newer brands and names that were also working to redefine who high fashion is for. Serena Williams‘ eponymous new line was a real breakout. There was tons of exciting stuff to see at NYFW, but here we give you our top five moments.

Chromat and Tess Holliday Came to Party

Supermodel, Tess Holiday posted this caption on her Instagram post, “What can I even say?!! I’m finally part of the @chromat family!! Last night was my first time walking for a major designer in #nyfw and I can’t think of anyone better to experience this with than @chromat! Thank you @beccamccharentran — you’re changing the industry one runway at a time.”

Kleinfeld Bridal and plus-size brides reigned supreme at CurvyCon

Kleinfeld Bridal brought the inspired bridal looks we all craved to the runway. In addition to featuring gorgeous wedding gowns, they also highlighted their selection of bridesmaid dresses. You might have heard of them from dSay Yes to the Dress, but if you haven’t heard much about Kleinfeld, you certainly will now. As the Instagram caption says, it really was an “Epic show” at NYFW.

Studio 189 featured a breathtaking Eileen GIlbert

Eileen Gilbert graced the runway with her presence for Studio 189. “I got to walk for @studiooneeightynine today, I got to represent for the Plus Size babes out there. Thank you so much for this fun experience! Check out their dope collection,” she said in a post on Instagram.

Hunter McGrady stunned for Chromat.

Hunter McGrady had us singing Blue Velvet as she graced the runway in a two-piece velvet look. The swimsuit model looked gorgeous, poised and ready to take the world by storm.

Serena Williams debuted her self-titled brand at NYFW to great acclaim. The collection includes every-day wear, cocktail attire, business casual looks and more. If you weren’t already completely stunned by Serena Williams and her business acumen, time to take check out what she brought to the runway.

In an Instagram post, she even sported one of the looks. The caption says, “This Natasha Zip Sleeve Dress by @serena is so sexy it makes your hair dance!” We want our hair to dance!
