Woman Pregnant with Baby #22 After Husband Reverses Vasectomy

The patriarchs of the Duggar family might be famous in America for having 19 children, but the Radford family of Lancashire, England has outdone them by three. Yes, you read that correctly, Sue and Noel Radford are gearing up to become parents of 22 children.

Yes, 22 kids. It’s hard to fathom being a mom of 22 children, but as Sue revealed on their family’s YouTube page, baby number 22 is on its way.

Recently, the patriarchs of the Radford family, who are known locally for owning and running their popular bakery known as Radford’s Pie Company, posted a video on YouTube with the title, WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!! 

According to CafeMom, Sue is 44 years old and Noel is 48 years old. Sue was just 14 years old when she had their first child. Their children range in ages from 1 year old to 30 years old. One a regular bases, the Radford family uses their YouTube channel to give their fans a glimpse into their daily life. And that was no different when Sue took their camera into the ultrasound appointment that confirmed what she expected, she was pregnant with baby number 22.

In the video, Sue revealed that she is 12 weeks pregnant and that she is NOT expecting twins. “I don’t do twins,” she said. And that’s the truth. Sue has never carried anything other than singletons over the last 30 years, meaning she’s given birth 21 times already.

According to Sky News, Sue and Noel are the parents of 30-year-old Chris, 25-year-old Sophie, 23-year-old Chloe, 22-year-old Jack, 20-year-old Daniel, 18-year-old Luke, 17-year-old Millie, 16-year-old Katie, 15-year-old James, 14-year-old Ellie, 13-year-old Aimee, 12-year-old Josh, 11-year-old Max, 9-year-old Tillie, 7-year-old Oscar, 6-year-old Casper, 3-year-old Hallie, 2-year-old Phoebe, 18-month-old Archie, and 11-month-old Bonnie Raye. In 2014, their 17th child, Alfie, was stillborn.

And all of their children, with the exception of Chris and Sophie, still live at home. As the Daily Mail reports, Sue and Noel are also grandparents as Sophie is already a mother of three.

As one can imagine, raising 21 children is expensive. According to reports, the parents spend roughly $454 on food weekly and if they ever go out for a bite to eat, their bill ends up being at least $195 or more. And they roughly wash 40 pounds of laundry each and every week.

As Sue revealed in the video, this was actually their second ultrasound after having one at 8-weeks pregnant. She is due in April. 

And it’s unclear if baby number 22 will be Sue and Noel’s last. As CafeMom reports, Sue and Noel first decided to stop having kids after their eighth child. Noel even got a vasectomy to ensure they wouldn’t fall pregnant again. However, sometime after the vasectomy, the couple made the decision to have the vasectomy reversed.

Then after the birth of their 21st child, Bonnie Raye, Sue and Noah declared they were done having children. But as one can see, the couple changed their minds again.

Sue also revealed that she’s hoping to have another little boy this time around. “We’re just coming up to 15 weeks pregnant and we’ll be able to find out the gender of the baby soon. […] I wonder if it will be 11 of each – I am feeling a bit boy.” Oscar, however, is hoping for a girl because they’re “more cute.”

And because this is basically old hat for Sue and Noel, she said this particular pregnancy is just “flying by”. However, the parents are also pleased to have learned during their first two scans that their unborn child is developing the way he or she is supposed to. “It’s all good,” as Sue put it.
