Thomas Rhett is one proud papa as he shares his oldest daughter’s very first song she ever wrote! It looks like someone wants to be just like her daddy!
In an earlier article, Mamas Uncut reported about how actor Jason Mamoa had hoped his children wouldn’t follow in his and his wife’s footsteps and become actors. While talking to Entertainment Tonight, Mamoa was admittedly bummed when he learned that one of his kids has taken a liking to acting.
“Aw man, one of them wants to [pursue acting] and I’m not a fan,” the dad said. “I don’t want them to. I’ll try my damnedest to keep ’em out of it. I love storytelling, I love theatrical things, I like directing and filmmaking, but I just want them to, you know, really to go for other things.”
However, when it comes to the music scene, it seems like one country star is embracing the fact that his daughter seems to be taking after him. On Instagram, country singer Thomas Rhett revealed that his daughter Willa Gray has a knack for songwriting.
“Willa Gray wanted to share with y’all the very first song she ever wrote,” Rhett said at the start of the Instagram video. “What’s it called,” he then asked Willa who was sitting next to him.
Willa was unsure of how to answer that questions. But with her dad’s help, they settled on, “Willa Gray’s First Song.”
Take a listen to the song people have called a “banger,” “fire,” and something they are sure will go “certified platinum.”

And Rhett’s followers truly loved it. “D*MN SHE KILLED THAT TRACK,” one commenter wrote. “And the Grammy goes to…Willa Gray,” another added!
So while some of Hollywood’s biggest stars may not want to see their children follow in their footsteps, it seems like Rhett doesn’t really have a choice. Willa Gray has a natural talent that deserves to shine on the biggest stage!
