UPDATE: Twenty-four hours after taking to Instagram on April 1 to announce that she is pregnant with baby number six, Tori Spelling revealed that it was, in fact, an April Fools joke. However, she told her fans in her statement that she doesn’t think pregnancy is a joke.
“Every week, magazine and press outlets ask if I am pregnant. To set the record straight, I am not. The fact is, after my fifth baby, my body didn’t bounce back like it had before. That’s when the constant questions of ‘yet another’ pregnancy first began. Unless you’re in the public eye, it is hard to understand what it feels like to be body-shamed so publicly. I feel like I have to constantly defend my body when instead, I should be honoring it for the miracle of life it gave me five times.
I know that pregnancy is an extreme blessing. And I would never intentionally poke fun at losing a child or not being able to carry one. I myself have miscarried. My post was to simply turn the tables for once on the press. They constantly create wild and often hurtful stories about me, my body, and my family. For those of you that are hurt, I hear you. I love you. I welcome your stories and I will try my best to be there to support you. Please accept this as a virtual hug to my entire community.”
And as with her April Fools joke, it garnered a mixed reaction.

Just days after celebrating her oldest child’s 14th birthday, Tori Spelling took to Instagram to share some big news. On April 1, yes, April Fools Day, the 47-year-old mom of five revealed she was going to be a mom of six.
Spelling shares all of her children with her husband Dean McDermott, who has a child with his ex-wife, making this soon-to-be little one his seventh. Spelling shared the news along with a photo of her growing baby bump and her followers are thrilled for her.

Fellow actress Amy Davidson wrote “Tori!!!! Congrats mama,” along with two red heart emojis. Another commenter added, “Ahhhhhhh! This is the BEST news!!! I’m so happy for you! A delicious little half dozen!!!” And one follower wrote, “Omg mama!!!! So exciting!”
However, because Spelling chose to reveal this news on April 1, many commenters caution Tori. And although there is nothing to indicate that this is an April Fools Joke, people are letting her know that a joke like this would be in bad taste.
“I really, really hope this isn’t a joke because faking being pregnant on April fools is tacky and tone deaf,” one person wrote. And another added, “I hope this isn’t an April Fools joke because that’s in such poor taste for those of us who have lost babies.”
And they’re right! However, Tori has talked about baby number six before. In a 2017 interview with People, she said, “All my kids have their little pair, so I would be open to one more. Hey, if people call you the Brady Bunch, you have to complete the Brady Bunch.”
Spelling recently appeared on E!’s Overserved With Lisa Vanderpump. The host asked Spelling “which celebrity should she have slept with that she didn’t?” The soon-to-be mom of six answered that she should have slept with Ryan Seacrest when he was first starting out.
Why? Because she “could be a Kardashian right now,” Spelling joked. She admitted that she had no idea who Seacrest would become. “I was on 90210 and I was like, ‘Oh, whatever.’ I would’ve been dating up!”
Dean has not yet shared his own response to the news of their sixth child being on the way! But congratulations are sure in order!
