Tori Spelling and her family have been plagued with sickness on and off for the past three years, but it was until recently that she received a prognosis for their ongoing problem – a mold infestation inside her home. Now, she’s being forced to vacate her home as they continue to recover from the physical effect.
On Wednesday (May 17), Spelling took to her Instagram Story to provide an update. She asked her followers if anyone knew how to find a California lawyer who specializes in mold infestations – describing her family’s troubles as ‘next level.’ She’s happy they found the root of the issue, but the struggle is real.
“My kids and I are so sick and can’t get well and our family needs help. Overwhelmed. We do need to start with an amazing lawyer who can guide us through this,” she added in the Instagram Story. This isn’t the first time she has opened up about her family’s shared sickness, but she’s now hoping it’s her last.

Her recent update comes one week after she took to her Instagram to reveal the discovery of mold inside her home. Tori Spelling posted several photos of her and her family at a local urgent care as they seeked answers and treatment for their ongoing and recurring sickness – all of which was a result of mold.
We’ve all been on this continual spiral of sickness for months. Sick. Get better. To get sick again. Used to think… well that’s what happens when you have young kids in school,” she wrote. Things got so bad she started to think something bigger was going on, so she decided to have her home inspected for mold.
“[Thanks] to Sean at Pacific Scope Inspections who came out and discovered extreme mold in our home. The pieces all started to fall into place,” she said of the discovery – adding that her family suffered from respiratory infections, extreme allergy-like symptoms, and skin rashes as a result of the mold infestation.
Tori Spelling lives in her home with her husband, Dean McDermott, and their five children – Liam, 15, Stella, 14, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10 and Beau, 5. Tori and Dan met in 2005 when they were both married to other partners, but struck up a romance and married one another a month after their divorces.
Tori Spelling Being Forced to Vacate Her Home
The continued and recurring health struggles are enough to bring any family down, but things only got worse when Tori Spelling and her family were asked to vacate their home, considering the home was now being labeled a health hazard. Of course, this only added to the stress, anxiety, and frustration they felt.
“It’s hard to just uproot a huge family especially in midst of all feeling so sick and in bed. But, we now will vacate the home asap. Looking for an [Airbnb] or [Vrbo] or hotel till we can even grasp what to do. We are just renters so looks like moving is in our eminent future as well,” she wrote in her Instagram caption.
She went on to appreciate the fact that her family had renters insurance – adding they’d be ‘lost how to tackle this without’ it. Not only that, but she called out her kids’ public school district for ‘repeatedly not believing our kids were sick as they’ve been continually’ before asking if anyone else experienced this.

Tori Spelling also warned other families that mold infestations in the home are much more common than we’d like to think. It’s known to be a silent killer because most people living with mold in the home have no idea – of course, that could change with a simple mold inspection.
