On Tuesday night, Travis Scott made a surprise appearance at Nebula Nightclub in New York City during a performance by Don Tolliver – much to the delight of the crowd. Reports indicate that it was a fun and exciting night, but things apparently went sour when Scott got into an altercation with a sound engineer.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning when Scott was in the DJ booth. Video obtained by TMZ shows Scott arguing with the engineer, who allegedly turned down the volume of Scott’s playlist. Scott can be seen pushing the sound engineer out of the DJ booth, saying, “Back the f*** up.”
A few minutes later, Scott allegedly punched the engineer in the left side of the face – though the victim didn’t show any signs of an injury – and caused roughly $12,000 in damage to a speaker and video screen at the club. After the incident, Travis Scott fled the scene before cops arrived around 3:30 a.m..

In the hours after the incident, both a representative (Ted Anastasiou) and attorney (Mitchell Schuster) for Travis Scott expressed how the allegations are being overexaggerated in what they’re calling a potential ‘cash grab.’ With that being said, Scott and his team are cooperating with police officers.
“While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing,” Schuster said to TMZ on Wednesday before noon.
By noon, video of the allegations started to surface, which showed Scott arguing with the sound engineer and vaguely showing the damage he had caused as a result. Nonetheless, a managing partner of the nightclub – Ritchie Romero – said, “This is blown completely out of proportion. It was a great night.”
That sentiment was shared by the talent booker – Dorian Harrington – who set up the performance by Don Tolliver. “This is a total misunderstanding, and what I saw on stage doesn’t reflect what I read in the news. The music and the night turned out great and everyone left peacefully,” Harrington said yesterday.
Travis Scott Will Turn Himself In Next Week
As news of the incident continues to spread, NYPD officers are wanting to speak with Travis Scott to hear his side of the story. While he initially hopped on a private jet back to Los Angeles in the hours after the incident, several sources say Scott plans on turning himself in for questioning sometime next week.
His representatives are planning on him returning to New York City as early as Tuesday and expect Scott to be charged with assault. Other sources allege that Scott was ‘poised for battle’ when he showed up to the club wearing a shirt that said ‘Back the f*** up’ – adding he came to the club angry and intoxicated.
In an interview with Fox5 New York, the victim – identified as Mark, 52 – said, ““Obviously my neck is f–ked up. My arm is tingling. I have pins and needles going down it.” Prior to the incident, he was trying to tell Travis Scott to turn the volume down so the performance sounded better, but Scott quickly snapped.

“So I lowered the monitor a little bit so I could talk to him, and that’s when he ran around the speaker and attacked me,” said Mark in the interview. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Scott, especially given the allegations by Mark and the fact that Scott’s reps believe he’ll be cleared of any wrongdoing.
