Two twin sisters were surprised when they went into labor on the same day despite not having the same due date.
Before falling pregnant in 2018, according to CBS News, both Bao Kou Julie Yang and Bao Nhia Julia Yang endured miscarriages within months of each other. Then they learned around the same time, last year, that they were both pregnant with rainbow babies.
Twin Sisters Had No Idea They Went Into Labor at the Same Time Until After Their Respective Births
On November 4, 2018, both Bao Kou and Bao Nhia went into early labor. However, despite going to the same Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, California, neither sister knew the other was laboring at the same time.
In an interview with People, Bao Kou said, “We both weren’t expecting this, to say the very least. I was definitely in shock, but I was happy for the both of us. It’s really a miracle.”
Shortly after welcoming their babies into the world, the sisters were reunited. Bao Kou called the moment they saw each other and their new babies for the first time “emotional.”
“We were just feeling a lot of love and care for each other. We’ve gone through a lot. We definitely were there for each other and we both reminded each other that no matter what happened, we were always going to have each other.”
She continued, “My sister and I went through miscarriages together and that definitely brought us closer. Being able to see her, being able to have her be there and keeping me together after our miscarriages was something that was very important to me.”

Bao Kou and Bao Nhia both welcomed little girls into their growing families, Nadalie Xiong and Candra Thao, respectively. Now the 24-year-old twins hope their daughters will grow up to be as close as their mothers are.
And as Bao Kou told People, the little cousins are already getting well. “They seem to get along with each other. They fall asleep next to each other fine, [and] they cry at the same time.”
