Kristen Bell recently appeared on Kevin Nealon’s new YouTube series, Hiking with Kevin, to chat about parenting with husband Dax Shepard.
Shepard and Bell have two daughters, Delta, 5, and Lincoln, 6 ½, and they’ve both been candid about their wish to let their kids be who they are — even if it means taking some big risks, like riding in sand dunes with their parents or shaving the side of their head as Lincoln did earlier this year.

Shepard is known for his adventurous side and has been taking his daughters on adventures since they were very young.
“I strap their car seats into the five-point harness and then the car seats have a little harness and they have these cute earmuffs,” Shepard said of riding in the sand dunes with his kids.

Why Dax Shepard Is Teaching His Young Daughters to Ride Motorcycles
Shepard has also been teaching his children how to ride a motorcycle, and for good reason. “I want you to know why I’m doing this,” Shepard apparently said to Bell.
“Because when [Lincoln is] 16 and she’s got a boyfriend who rides a motorcycle, there is not a girl who rides well in the world that would get on the back of a boyfriend’s motorcycle. If she rides, she’s gonna want to either ride her own or he’s gonna be on the back. And I want to know that she has the training from me and the wherewithal to do it.“
This is not the first time Shepard has spoken on this issue. A few years ago, Shepard stopped by the Ellen Degeneres show… and he brought a clip of the motorcycle riding.

We… approve of this line of thinking! Not only is it empowering for Bell and Shepard’s daughters, but it really could prove to be valuable, safety-wise, as the girls get older. They’ll be able to handle themselves. And that’s a good thing.
