At 45 Years Old, Chloe Sevigny Welcomes Her First Child Into the World to During a Global Pandemic

UPDATE: Chloe Sevigny and Sinisa Mackovic have decided to share more information and a photo of their newborn son. “Welcome to the world Vanja Sevigny Mačković. Born May 2nd [in] New York City. Thank you to all the staff at Mt. Sinai East for your bravery, perseverance, and kindness, especially the nurses for being so gentle and patient. Blessings to all the other families giving birth during this time.”

After expressing her concern about giving birth in the middle of a global pandemic in one of the hardest-hit cities in the United States, New York City, actress and fashion designer, Chloe Sevigny, and her boyfriend, Sinisa Mackovic, welcomed their first child into the world.

According to Page Six, while Sevigny’s representatives confirmed the news of their child’s birth, no other details were made public at the time. However, The Cut says that prior to her child’s birth, she confirmed to them that she is having a boy.

“When I found out I was having a boy, I had to wrap my head around that, as I am so girly,” she told The Cut. “I don’t even have that many boy friends; all of my friends are girls. I just relate better to girls. I’m like, what the hell am I going to do with a boy? My mom was like, ‘This is your comeuppance for not really liking men.’ I was like, great. I like men when I’m sleeping with them! But of course, I am thrilled and so excited about the whole thing.”

On May 4, the couple was snapped by paparazzi while walking with their newborn child. Sevigny was still wearing her hospital bracelet in the picture.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in an effort to help contain the spread of coronavirus, New York hospitals were not allowing the partners of expectant mothers inside the hospital while they labored. This worried Sevigny, who at the time of her statement was preparing to give birth to her first child in New York City.

Although the new rule was put in place as a safety precaution. Many mothers said having the support system of their partners with them in the room is extremely important for their mental health when going through something as emotionally and physically taxing as birth a child.

#pregnantincoronatime ???????????? I hope all expecting families are finding some calm,” Sevigny wrote on Instagram. “Today’s news in NY was very distressing for all. #support #prayers.”

Although it’s been revealed that the new parents welcomed a baby boy last week, Sevigny once talked about becoming the mother of a daughter so that she could one day pass down some of her most cherished fashion pieces. Nonetheless, maybe there are a few staple pieces in her closet that her son will be able to work into his wardrobe somehow.

And while Sevigny wasn’t shy about sharing her progress during her pregnancy, it’s unclear if she will be as open now that her child is officially here.
