Adele’s Personal Trainer Comes to the Singer Defense After Her Physical Transformation Results in People Shaming Her Weight Loss

The talk of the internet this past week has been all about Adele and her incredible weight loss journey. However, while most people praised the singer’s new look, there were some who shamed the mom of one for losing as much weight as she did.

Now her personal trainer is coming to her defense. Just three years ago, five years after welcoming her son Angelo into the world, Adele looked like this:

Now, nearly a year after going through a divorce with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, the 32-year-old looks like this:

Adele, who usually isn’t one for social media, shared the picture which fully captures her new look in honor of her birthday. “Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time,” she wrote along with the photo. “I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels. 2020 okay bye thanks.”

And people were literally blown away by Adele’s progress. “My jaw just hit the floor,” Jenny ‘JWoww’ Farley comments. “Honey, you can’t just show up like this and say nothing,” Hugo Gloss added. “We need new music!”

“Casually just being EVERYTHING!!! You win sis!” said another commenter.

However, while there were more kind comments than negative ones, Adele’s trainer felt the need to come to the artist’s defense to let people know her transformation had nothing to do with wanting to be skinny.

Some of the negativity read, “You’ve lost my respect. You preached about not wanted to be like a girl on cover magazines, been a role model for common girls, and you end up looking like a catalog model. IT really sucks.”

Now Adele’s trainer, Pete Geracimo, says those who are contributing to the “fat-phobic accusations” need to stop.

“In my personal experience of working with her through many highs and lows, she always marched to the beat of her own drum on her own terms. She never undermined her God-given talent in any way. She let her incredible voice do the talking, or should I say singing! She never once pretended to be something that she wasn’t. What you saw was what you got. And we all LOVED it!”

Geracimo then continued, adding that when he and Adele started working together, “it was never about getting super skinny. It was about getting her healthy” for herself, her career, specifically for her tour that was coming up, and for her son.

“In that time, she warmed to training and made better food choices. As a result, she lost considerable weight and people took notice. Her body transformation was splashed across every media outlet. The attention it generated was mind-blowing,” Geracimo wrote on Instagram, and the progress just continued from there.

“Since she moved to LA, it’s been well documented that she underwent some tough personal changes. It’s only natural that with change comes a new sense of self and wanting to be your best possible version. She embraced better eating habits and committed to her fitness and ‘is sweating’! I could not be prouder or happier for her! This metamorphosis is not for album sales, publicity, or to be a role model. She is doing it for herself and for Angelo.”

Geracimo concluded that he hopes people start to appreciate Adele’s hard work rather than criticize it.
“She did not lose the weight to make others feel bad about themselves. This personal transformation has nothing to do with me or you. It’s about Adele and how she wants to live her life.”
