Amber Portwood’s Boyfriend Files for Custody of Their Son After Her Arrest

Just as things seemed to be getting back to normal for Jenelle Evans‘ family, another Teen Mom star now finds herself in a potentially disastrous custody situation. TMZ reports that Amber Portwood‘s boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, has filed for custody of their son, 1-year-old James, following news of her arrest for domestic battery.

According to legal paperwork obtained by TMZ, Glennon filed for full custody of James on Tuesday, July 9.

Portwood was arrested last Friday, July 5, after allegedly assaulting Glennon while he was holding their son. In the call he made to 9-1-1, Glennon claimed both his life and the life of his son were in danger.

Portwood allegedly hit Glennon in the neck with her shoe, causing “pain and abrasions.” Police seemed to confirm that evidence of a physical attack existed, although James was left unharmed.

TMZ also notes this is not the first time Portwood has been accused of domestic violence. In 2010, multiple felony assault charges were brought against Portwood after she allegedly beat her then-boyfriend, Gary Shirley, in front of their son. She pleaded guilty to two of the charges. Shirley actually spoke out about Portwood’s recent arrest in a tweet, saying:

Portwood was released from jail on Saturday, July 6, on a cash bond. Glennon is not the person who bailed her out.

An initial hearing is scheduled for this week, so stay tuned for more updates on Amber Portwood, Andrew Glennon, and what is shaping up to be a nasty custody battle.
