Amy Schumer is very quickly becoming one of our favorite new moms because of her honest, raw take on postpartum living. From wearing her mesh hospital underpants to posting pics of herself in full pump mode, Schumer has taken sharing a realistic view of motherhood to the next level. Most recently, Amy went out to a bar without her baby for the first time, which as any mom knows, is a huge milestone.
Amy posted a pic on Instagram of a TV airing the US women’s soccer game. She captioned the photo, “Where is everyone watching the US women’s soccer team play Spain?! I’m in a bar without a baby.”
Mom’s first night out without baby? Big deal, mama!
Now, given how judgmental people can be on social media, you might expect that her followers gave her a good virtual talking-to about going out without the baby so soon after birth. But the commentary she received warmed our heart. Most followers actually answered the questioned she posed – people do that?! – and shared where they were watching the game. Others cheered Amy on for getting in some good ol’ quality me-time.

But People Aren’t Always So Kind to Amy Schumer on Social Media
While we’re heartened to see people respond to her living her best life so positively, Amy’s choices haven’t gone without some pushback. Not everyone was thrilled when she performed a stand-up routine two weeks after having her baby and not everyone loved the mesh underwear photo. Apparently, though, people are totally on board with Amy watching women’s soccer in a bar sans baby. In the age of unsolicited opinions via social media, we’ll take the wins we can get!
