Car Crashes Into Pennslyvania Daycare Center, Injures 4 Toddlers

The front window of a strip mall daycare center was smashed through with a car just last week in Pennslyvania, with four toddlers injured according to authorities.

In a statement issued by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, a black BMW crashed through the Children of America Educational Childcare Center in Upper Southampton Township around 1:30 p.m. last Thursday.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the car traveled between 30 to 40 feet into the building and ultimately “came to rest against a back wall of the room where reportedly in an area where the children take their naps.

When the incident occurred, there were 17 children in the classroom and four of those little ones were rushed to Abington Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Only one child suffered serious injuries according to authorities and WPVI-TV and is in critical condition.

The children in the classroom where the incident happened were all between the ages of 3 and 4, the WCAU reported.

“All children have been accounted for and reunited with family,” the statement said.

In photos obtained by WCAU reveal the front of the BMW (which is covered in scuff marks) lodged into what looks to be children’s cubbies.

In was noted in a statement that the car’s driver sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated at a local hospital.

She is between the ages of 50 to 60, and was at a strip mall in a “business capacity,” the Inquirer reports.

The driver, who has no connection to the children in the daycare, is said to be cooperating with authorities and no charges have been announced according to WPVI.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office Crash Investigation Team along with the Upper Southampton Police Department.
