Did you know that Cher and Jennifer Aniston have been friends for nearly 40 years? It might surprise you, but she confirmed as much in a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. At one point during the interview, Clarkson asked about her relationship with Aniston and it resulted in a candid response.
“As a teenager, I mean as like a middle teenager. And (she would) eat me out of house and home,” said Cher while giggling. “The girls always used to, they knew when I went to Balducci’s (grocery store), and they would just show up and just chow down. And (Aniston) was a big chow down-er,” she continued.
According to Cher, Aniston was a “big chow down-er” and loved eating her food. Clarkson went on to ask if she had any idea Aniston would be such a big star at the time. Cher explained that Aniston was going to the High School of Performing Arts – but she believes in letting an individual’s talent speak for itself.

The relationship between Cher and Jennifer Aniston dates back to the 1970s. Aniston was classmates with Chaz Bono, Cher’s only son with Sonny Bono, at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Chaz and Aniston were friends growing up, having met while in high school.
And that’s when Aniston would reportedly hang out at Cher’s house, munching on all her snacks. While she knew Aniston was talented, she probably had no idea she would become the star that she became – having starred in Friends, Bruce Almighty, Just Go With It, Horrible Bosses, Office Space, and more.
When talking about letting one’s talent speak for itself, Cher told a story about her mother. “My mom used to say to anybody she met, ‘I have a daughter who sings.’ Well the minute you say that, people just turn (their attention) off,” said Cher, adding that most people showed little to no interest in her at first glance.
She recounted a time when her mother was talking to the owner and manager of Atlantic Records, telling him she had a daughter that sang. He brushed her off but later ended up signing Cher – without knowing it was the daughter of the lady he brushed off. It’s funny how things can come full circle like that.
Cher Talks About Her New Boyfriend, Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards
Cher wasn’t going to get out of an interview with Kelly Clarkson without talking about her new man – Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards. The couple has sparked quite the controversy online with their 40-year age gap – Cher is 76, while Alexander is 36. Despite the slew of comments she receives, she’s living her best life.
“On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous, but in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous, and I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve,” the pop icon said, adding that her new man is kind, smart, talented, funny, and, of course, handsome. And she wasn’t shy about her preference for men younger than her.
“If I hadn’t met younger men in my life, I would’ve never had a date because older men just didn’t like me all that much. Maybe younger men don’t care if you’re funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things and you have a strong personality. I’m not giving up my personality for anybody, OK?” said Cher.
