Chris Pratt, Katherine Schwarzenegger Announce Daughter’s Birth
The couple made sure to share at least one photo with their fans on Instagram. And although Chris and Katherine decided to keep her pregnancy a secret, they did share one photo shortly after their child was born.
On August 10, both Chris and Katherine took to Instagram to share a photo of their hands holding their baby girl’s hand. This is their first child together, while Chris also has a son from his previous marriage to actress Anna Faris.
“We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt,” Chris and Katherine wrote. “We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris.”
Chris then added two bible verses to his post. One was Psalm 126:3, which reads, “The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” And the second was Psalm 127:3-4, which reads:
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
And their friends and family couldn’t be happier for them. Chris’s Guardians of the Galaxy co-star, Zoe Saldana, wrote, “Welcome to the world, Lady Lyla! May your path be blessed with grace and joy always! We are so happy for you guys! Sending you so much love.”
Katherine’s mom and Chris’s mother-in-law, Maria Shriver, also left a comment that read, “So happy for you all. So happy you get to experience being a girl dad! Lucky you, lucky her, lucky world.”
According to People, a source revealed that Lyla is now home and Katherine “is going through all the first-time mom emotions.” Nonetheless, the source added that she “is extremely happy, but a bit tired and overwhelmed. Chris keeps being amazing though. It’s comforting for Kat that he is already a dad and understands how it is to have a newborn.”
The couple will soon have another birthday to celebrate as well. Chris’s oldest child, Jack, will turn 8 on August 17.
