Chrissy Teigen is officially on bed rest. Earlier this week, the cookbook author and model gave an update regarding her third and current pregnancy.
While on Twitter, Teigen told her followers that she’s been in bed for the better part of the 24 hours and will have to continue to be in bed until at least next Tuesday. And while it may sound nice to lay in bed all day, Teigen admits “it’s kind of crappier than it sounds.”
Chrissy Teigen Accidentally Reveals Sex of Unborn Child
The soon-to-mom went on to joke that this bedrest is her “punishment for saying the first two pregnancies were easy peasy.” Teigen first announced she was on bed rest last week.
The following day, after sharing an update on Twitter, Teigen then took to Instagram to give a more in-depth update as to why she’s on bed rest and how she’s doing. “My placenta sucks. It’s always been kind of the bad of my pregnancies. With Miles, it just, like, stopped feeding him […] So he had to come out early. Luna had to come out early. I was induced both times. Anyways it’s super weak.”
And then this is where Teigen’s update gets a little exciting because she accidentally shares the sex of her third child, something she was trying to keep a secret from the public for the time being. “It’s so weird because the baby is really healthy,” Teigen continued. “He’s big. He probably…oops!” she said before trailing off and covering her mouth with her hand when she realized she slipped.
Now, Teigen could have chosen not to share the video and just re-record her update for her fans, but as she captions the video, “hahahahah, might as well tell you.”
As Teigen continued with a laugh, she reassured her fans that her baby boy is growing “beautifully” and that she and baby are doing just fine. However, because her placenta is so weak, Teigen said it’s causing her to bleed “a lot.”
“It’s pretty high risk. This poor thing has been through so much already,” the mom said, seemingly referencing the surgery had before she knew she was pregnant. “So we just have to get my placenta healthy again. And that means no moving, complete and total don’t-get-up-except-to-pee-pee bed rest.”
While we are sure this moment in her pregnancy is scary for Teigen, who unlike her first two pregnancies was able to get pregnant naturally, seems to be handling it all very well. And we couldn’t be happier to hear that she and their son are doing well.
