Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Receive Backlash After Instagram User Called Them Out for Not Wearing Baby Carrier Correctly

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend enjoyed the sights and sounds of Venice, Italy over the weekend to celebrate Easter Sunday with their three children – Esti (3 months old), Luna (6 years old), and Miles (4 years old). They shared a series of photos of their beautiful family enjoying all that Italy has to offer.

In one post, Teigen and Legend were walking the streets of Venice with their 3-month-old baby, Esti, wrapped in a baby carrier around Legend’s stomach. While many thought nothing of it, one user implied that the 44-year-old singer wasn’t wearing the carrier correctly and tagged a friend to give them advice.

Teigen was quick to respond and made it abundantly clear that she didn’t need any advice on how to wear it – her child was both safe and comfortable. “‘Right’ is how she is comfortable. She doesn’t like to be high and tight and likes to look around and see her daddy. She is safe and happy,” Teigen commented.

As for their trip to Venice, Chrissy Teigen explained a fond memory she has of her and her husband visiting the city in 2007 – back in the early days of their relationship, when they were ‘just a couple of crazy child-free kids,’ as she describes it. Now, they’re back with three children and rings on their fingers.

“It was the dead of winter, absolutely freezing cold and John fondly remembers my single faux urban outfitters fur hat that adorned me every day and night. We took the water bus everywhere and ran through the alleys, making out like a couple of doofuses in lurve,” Teigen said of her memorable 2007 visit.

On Sunday, she posted a photo of the family – this time with Chrissy Teigen holding Esti in a baby carrier, while Miles and Luna were holding their father’s hand. “Happy Easter from us and our [chick]a-dees!” Teigen wrote in the caption. Another photo implied the family was enjoying a friendly game of UNO.

The photos continued on Monday, but it appeared to be a date night for Legend and Teigen – who were fancied up in black clothes and without their children. “Sue Ellen Mischke takes Italy,” Chrissy wrote in the caption – implying they were still in Italy and referencing the ‘bra-less wonder’ from the Friends sitcom.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Are Enjoying Their Family of Five

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen met in 2006 while filming a music video and began dating not long after. After four years of dating, they announced their engagement in December 2011 and waited two years before making it official – tying the knot on September 14, 2013, in Como, Italy – 190 miles from Venice.

Their first child – daughter Luna Simone Stephens – was born on April 14, 2016, and their second child – son Miles Theodore Stephens – was born on May 16, 2018. Their third child was due in 2020, but Chrissy was forced to have an abortion after learning the baby wouldn’t make it. They didn’t give up, though.

On January 13, 2023, the couple gave birth to their second daughter – Esti Maxine Stephens – officially giving them a family of five. I’m in awe of Chrissy’s strength and resilience and I’m so thrilled to see how Luna and Miles embrace their baby sister. I’m so, so grateful, but that doesn’t seem like a big enough word,” Legend wrote on Instagram at the time.
