Singer Ed Sheeran Drops a Bombshell on His Fans, He and Cherry Seaborn Are Now Parents

A little over one year after singer Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn got married in 2018, the husband and wife are now parents. Over the last nine months, Sheeran and Seaborn managed to keep the pregnancy news a secret, much like the couple’s relationship.

Sheeran and Seaborn are two people who prefer to keep their private life away from the spotlight despite Sheeran being one of the biggest pop stars in the world. The couple has known each other since Sheeran was just 11 years old and Seaborn was only 10.

Ed Sheeran Is Officially a Dad

While his fans weren’t given a glimpse of their newborn, Sheeran did reveal on Instagram that they had a baby girl and that he and Seaborn are completely smitten. Along with a photo of a pair of blue baby socks laid out on a multicolored blanket, Sheeran wrote, “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you.”

“Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran,” the singer continued. “We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed.”

His famous best friend, Taylor Swift, liked Sheeran’s announcement, as did the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Hailey Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Courtney Cox, and many more. According to People, Sheeran and Seaborn’s first date was in 2015 when the reunited years later and their longtime friendship turned romantic.

It was also reported that the date took place at Swift’s annual Fourth of July party. One of the few times the couple has been seen together in public was during the music video for Sheeran’s song Put It All on Me.
