New Dad Jesse Tyler Ferguson Jokes About Parent-Shaming on Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram Post

Soon-to-be mom of three Chrissy Teigen is no stranger to mom-shaming and so Jesse Tyler Ferguson decided to try parent-shaming out. In fact, it’s become so bad in the past that Teigen sometimes addresses the potential backlash she could receive on any given photo in the caption to try to stop the shaming before it even happens.

Recently, Teigen took to Instagram to share a photo of how her oldest child, 4-year-old Luna, has been caring for her while she is on bed rest. As Teigen explained, her placenta has been weak during this third pregnancy, the bed rest is to ensure her unborn child continues to grow and get all the nutrients he needs to do just that.

As one can see, the photo shows Teigen relaxing in a bubble bath while Luna washes her hair for her. However, in the caption of the photo, Teigen made sure to explicitly state that her bath water is just warm, not hot, to avoid the unsolicited advice she was bound to receive from some of her followers.

“Every day she makes me a warm (not hot, chill!) bath and refuses to let me wash my own hair,” the proud mom said of her daughter. “Girls, man. John Legend, how did we get so lucky with lulu??”

That’s when her friend, Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, decided to use his comments to point out how ridiculous parent-shamers can be.

“You need to really be careful about the temperature of the water. (Sorry, I’m just seeing what it feels like to give parental advice on Instagram. It DOES feel pretty powerful. I can see the whole world from up here on my perch! It’s AMAZING! I see now why people do it! I feel invincible!!!!).”

Of course, Ferguson was being sarcastic and people applauded him for doing so. “Sarcastic humor is a wonderful tool to challenge the keyboard experts who need to give everyone advice,” one person replied.

And other moms shared in gushing about the pure love children so often have for their parents. Fellow model and mom, Tess Holiday, commented saying, “The love of our babies is so pure. I wish everyone was able to see the world through their eyes.”

While a couple of moms joked that Luna is the exception and their children in no way treat them like Luna treats Chrissy. “The other day my son threw a ball in my face. Can we swap kids,” one mom quipped.

It’s when celebrity parents have to put disclaimers in their captions just so they don’t get slammed that it’s time for people to realize they’re doing too much.
