Jill Duggar Shares Insensitive Photo From Child’s Funeral and Fans are Furious

Instagram

Jill Duggar AKA Jill Dillard is being criticized for a photo she posted to Instagram. Fans of the Counting On star are angry that she decided to post photos from a child’s funeral that she attended.

The photo of a child’s coffin topped with flowers seems totally inappropriate and insensitive. We’re not sure what Jill intended but the people are roundly criticizing the post and her. This comes shortly after followers on Instagram were perplexed by a partnership with “Dating Divas” which saw her stray from “modest” posts to more provocative ones. What is going on Jill?

Take a look at the Instagram post for yourself. In it, you’ll see a photo of a child’s coffin. Warning: the image is upsetting.

“Today has been a really hard day as I watched a couple do what no one should ever have to do…bury their little baby,” she posted. “Although our hearts break here on earth, we look forward to the day when we will see Jesus face to face, he will wipe every tear from our eyes and we will be reunited with those we miss so much.”

Jill’s caption helped to soften the heartbreaking image but still, some wondered if the photo was appropriate for Instagram. And more importantly, did Jill ask the family of the deceased child permission to take and post the image?

Did Jill get permission to post the photo in the first place?

One commenter made an extremely valid point. Did Jill get permission to post the image from the funeral? A funeral, of course, is a very personal moment for any family. This is exponentially true for anyone mourning the loss of a child.

Is Instagram the right venue for such a sensitive photo?

Even though we’re all using social media more than ever, not everything needs to be immortalized on Instagram. One commenter makes a great point here. No matter what Jill’s intentions were when she posted the photo, perhaps she should have paused to think if it was appropriate for Instagram.

People think the post should be deleted.

“This is someone else’s deepest heartbreak,” someone commented, “I hope you rethink this post and delete it.”

This person isn’t the only person who believes the post is too sensitive and personal for Instagram. But, Jill doesn’t seem to think so. The post is still live.

Jill should consider the comments.

It’s hard to tell what sort of relationship someone has with others online. However, it does seem wildly inappropriate to post photos from someone else’s child’s funeral. The caption on the post makes us think that Jill means well, but it might be best to listen to the fans and take down the post.
