Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey have officially taken on the role of parents after welcoming their first child – a daughter named Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey – on March 30. Cuoco announced the news on her Instagram, posting a photo of the adorable baby girl as she met her parents for the first time.
“We are overjoyed and grateful for this little miracle. Thank you to the doctors , nurses , family and friends who have helped us immensely over the last few days. We are blessed beyond belief [Tommy] didn’t think I could fall even more in love with you, but I did,” Cuoco wrote, calling her child ‘the new light of our lives.’
Pelphrey also took to his Instagram to share photos of the couple’s ‘new light’ and had a beautiful caption to go along with it. “My heart is full of love and gratitude for this miracle…. Eternally grateful for the strength and bravery of my soulmate and best friend [Kaley]. You are incredible,” he wrote in the caption.
The couple originally shared their pregnancy announcement on Instagram in October 2022. They shared a photo of them holding a cake with pink frosting on the inside – as well as photos of baby onesies, mugs that said ‘Papa Bear’ and ‘Mama Bear,’ the pregnancy test, and even a photo of her small baby bump.
Believe it or not, Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey were victims of love at first sight. They originally met at the premiere of the fourth season of Ozark – Pelphrey was a guest on the TV show as Ben Davis. They both had the same manager (Andrea Pett-Joseph) and it was her that initially brought the two together.
“We met at the “Ozark” premiere (in April), and I was standing with Andrea and Tom walked in, and I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting. It hit me. It was love at first sight. We were immediately connected,” Kaley Cuoco told USA Today in a May 2022 interview.
Cuoco has been engaged three times and married twice prior to meeting Pelphrey. She was engaged to Josh Resnik in October 2011, but they ended it a few months later. She was married to Ryan Sweeting between 2013 and 2016, and was married to Karl Cook between 2018 and 2022. Now, she has Tom!

Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey have had quite the past 12 months – highlighted by their coming together in harmony, but coupled with their continued success in Hollywood. Cuoco starred in two films (The Man from Toronto and Meet Cute) in 2022 and continued her main role in the TV show The Flight Attendant.
She ended up receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series last year for her role in The Flight Attendant – which she is also an executive producer of. As for 2023, she’s starring and producing an upcoming thriller film titled Role Play, which is directed by Thomas Vincent.
Tom Pelphrey had himself an incredible 2022, which was highlighted by his lead role in the true crime drama film American Murderer. He also appeared in the film She Said, the fourth season of Ozark, and even had a main role in Outer Range. Don’t worry, the 40-year-old has several projects lined up in 2023.
