Kelly Osbourne Explains Why She Never Shared Photos of Herself While Pregnant: “I Did Not Want to Get Fat-Shamed”

For those who follow Kelly Osbourne on Instagram, you’ve likely noticed how she never shared any photos of her pregnancy and rarely shares any photos of her son, Sidney – who was born sometime in late-2022 or early-2023. It’s something fans have pointed out and questioned her about in the comments.

On Tuesday (August 1), the 38-year-old mother shared a photo of herself on Instagram and, as usual, was met with a flurry of comments about her weight loss, pregnancy, and birth story. One fan in particular asked why she hasn’t shared any photos of her pregnancy and asked if she gave birth via a surrogate.

“There are no pictures of me pregnant because I hid for 9 months because I did not want to get fat shamed,” Kelly Osbourne wrote in response to the comment. Another fan asked is she had any work done to her face, but she claimed it was due to weight loss – though she did have a little BOTOX done.

The pregnancy announcement came in May 2022 when Kelly Osbourne shared a photo of herself holding a sonogram of her little boy. “I know that I have been very quiet these past few months so I thought I would share with you all as to why,” she wrote in the caption – adding that she was ‘over the moon.’

Over the next 10 months, Osbourne was largely absent from social media (aside from the occasional selfie). It wasn’t until March 3 that she finally posted something baby-related, but only the top of her son’s head was revealed – she was holding him and her brother, Jack Osbourne, was pointing at Sid’s head.

The following month, on April 6, Kelly Osbourne posted a photo of her holding Sidney – who had just met the Easter Bunny for the first time. Sidney’s face was censored by a big purple heart, but fans finally got what they’ve been waiting for on June 20 when Osbourne revealed his adorable face for the first time.

It’s unclear when the photo was taken, but little Sid was bundled up in an adorable bat costume with just his face showing – it was a tribute to her father, Ozzy Osbourne, who once bit the head off of a bat while on stage. It sounds like something he would do, but he later revealed that he thought it was a fake bat.

Kelly Osbourne Has Spoken Out About Body-Shamers Before

This might be the first time Kelly Osbourne is opening up about why there are no pregnant photos of her online, but it’s not the first time she has spoken out about body-shaming. For example, she brought it up in 2021 when a tabloid asked her for a comment about her fluctuating weight – but she wasn’t having it.

She received an email from the National Enquirer, who was writing a story about her at the time. They had several sources claiming that Kelly had put on a ‘tremendous amount of weight’ as a result of stress-eating after her relapse. They were asking for her comment, but she instead slammed them for it.

“Feel free to email Dan and tell him what you think about them fat shaming me,” she said of the person who sent her the email, while also letting her fans know that she is healthy. “This past year has been the hardest year of my life. I was compliantly and utterly broken. I am still putting myself back together again.”

While the tabloids are constantly trying to bring her down, it appears Kelly Osbourne is enjoying her new life as a mother and has all the love and support she needs from her boyfriend, brother, and parents – noting that her mother, Sharon, now goes by ‘Nana’ and her father, Ozzy, now goes by ‘Papa.’
