Khloe Kardashian welcomed daughter True Thompson into the world last year. Now she is learning how to navigate not only motherhood but co-parenting with her ex, Tristan Thompson.
Khloe appeared on her friend and lawyer Laura Wasser’s podcast, Divorce Sucks!, to chat about parenting with an ex. “Your parents split up in ’91, so how old were you then, Khloe?,” Wasser asked in a video E! News recently shared from last season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
“I was about 4 or 5 and I always remember though how amazing…I’m sure now that I’ve gone through it myself trying to co-parent, that they were so seamless with it,” the mom of 1-year-old True said.

“I never, ever heard my parents talk disrespectfully about the other one. For me, True is one and a month old so she doesn’t really know what’s happening. But to me, she does know and she feels the energy and I’m a big believer of that. So I do everything in my power to not put any heavy energy around her.”
“As a kid, I didn’t know. My parents were so good at not letting us feel whatever they were going through,” she continued. “And I want to give her the same thing. And I know her dad is a great person, I know how much he loves and cares about her so I want him to be there.”
Khloe’s relationship with Tristan didn’t end on good terms after he reportedly cheated on the reality TV star with Kylie Jenner’s former best friend Jordyn Woods. However, they’ve seemingly been able to move on from the tumultuous time and keep things civil, making co-parenting little True a top priority.
When I’m not hanging out with my three-year-old and husband in Brooklyn, I’m busy writing stories for Mamas Uncut and managing PR + Marketing for Magnolia Bakery, based in New York City. On weekends, you can usually find me at a local park or playground pushing my daughter on the swings, “researching” the best almond croissants in Park Slope or launching into impromptu family dance parties at home, the sidewalk or, every once in awhile, a restaurant bathroom. I’m still trying to master the whole parenting thing, but I have learned that copious amounts of coffee, humor and humility are involved on a daily basis.
