Mama June’s Distraught Daughters Say They’ve Had No Contact Since Arrest

The drama continues with Mama June Shannon and her family. After Mama June’s arrest last March for alleged drug possession, relationships have been strained and communication between members of the family with her has been virtually nonexistent.

The star of Toddlers & Tiaras, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and From Not to Hot has apparently squandered a fortune according to her daughters.

In a new clip, shared with People, WE revealed the name for the premiere episode of the season. It will be called, ‘Mama June: Family Crisis.’ In the clip, Mama June’s daughter, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon, explains that no one in the family can get in contact with the matriarch or her oft-maligned boyfriend, Eugene ‘Geno’ Doak.

“She doesn’t even answer our phone calls. It goes to voicemail,” says Pumpkin, and adds “Geno’s phone goes to voicemail.”

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson agrees, saying “Or they’ll say all their phones are dead and they were sleeping.”

After Mama June was arrested in March and fears about money being stolen from Honey Boo Boo mounted, Pumpkin became Honey Boo Boo’s legal guardian. Knowing how things have escalated with Geno and Mama June, this was a smart move on the part of her daughters.

“It’s gotten so low to this point, like, what more is there to do?” Pumpkin asks in the clip. “What more can we physically do for her? I mean, we tried to send her to rehab. The network even gave her the opportunity that anybody in their right f***ing mind would take. She checked out within less than 24 hours.”

It’s a somber moment for the daughters who feel a sense of hopelessness. This comes after Mama June was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia when she was allegedly found with crack cocaine and a pipe on her person. Her boyfriend Geno was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. His charges also included an act of third-degree domestic violence.

Months later in September, the couple received felony charges. They pled not guilty in an Alabama courthouse but had not gotten a court date yet. If convicted, both face up to a year in jail.

In the clip, Pumpkin’s husband, Joshua Efird, comments on the situation saying, “The bad thing about it is everything and anything that was in the car, or whatever they got arrested for, June took credit for all of it.”

“Because of that, she could literally get years behind bars,” Pumpkin says in agreement.

Mama June’s sister Jo ‘Doe Doe’ Shannon is also featured in the clip and explains that Mama June is currently living in Alabama with Geno. Apparently, they spend their time gambling and wasting money.

“Why come home when they can go to the casino and Geno can spend all the money?” Doe Doe asks.

Pumpkin agrees and adds, “How much more money are they gonna blow through before she is completely broke?”

This sad situation isn’t going to be resolved anytime soon if this clip is to believed. Mama June and her daughters have a lot of work to do to mend their relationship and heal the family.
