Actress Olivia Munn shared a touching tribute to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who died tragically after the helicopter he was riding in suddenly crashed.
Munn shared that she had a meeting scheduled with Bryant and his original content company Granity Studios to discuss a partnership aimed at helping children “be less afraid of death.”
Munn began, writing, “Kobe. You were such a wonderful friend. Always positive and thoughtful and supportive and reliable and so, so bright. One of the brightest souls I’ve ever seen and I am absolutely devastated by this.”

She continued, “We were supposed to get together this week to brainstorm more parts of the epic world you were creating at Granity Studios. You were creating a whole big world from scratch- everything from the continents to the oceans and rivers to the trees and even the leaves on the trees.”
Munn wrote that she had last spoken to Bryant about a friend’s daughter who had passed away after a battle with cancer. Her friend told her younger child that her sister had “turned into a star” after her death.
“We wanted to help kids be less afraid of death and tell stories of all the little and big stars…and now you’re one of them,’” she wrote on Instagram.
“Sending all my love to Vanessa and your daughters,” she concluded. “Rest in love, my friend. I’ll look for you in the sky.”

Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant was also on the helicopter, along with seven other victims. Those victims have been identified as Sarah Chester and her daughter Payton Chester, college baseball coach John Altobelli and his wife Keri Altobelli and daughter Alyssa Altobelli, basketball coach Christina Mauser and pilot Ara Zobayan. They were on their way to a youth basketball game in Thousand Oaks when their plane crashed in Calabasas.
