Prince William and Kate Middleton don’t mess around when it comes to their kiddos bedtime “regime.”

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe revealed to Good To Know why the royal kids didn’t join their parents at the recent Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey. Reportedly, the event did not fit into their bedtime schedule.

“It was on a school night and they are pretty strict,” Larcombe told the outlet. “The children are in a rather strict regime so that might have been the reason.”

Allegedly, the couple does not like to shift the bedtime routines of 8-year-old Prince George, 6-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 3-year-old Prince Louis.

The couple’s rules come after Middleton shined in her musical debut during the Royal Carols: Together at Christmas broadcast. On Christmas Eve, the Duchess of Cambridge played with Scottish singer Tom Walker onstage to perform his song “For Those Who Can’t Be Here.”

The special was held at The Chapter House inside Westminster Abbey (and aired on ITV). Kate went on to show off her hidden musical talents by playing the piano, while the 30-year-old musician sang and played the guitar. So we know what the bedtime routine is but what about the morning routine? Earlier this month, Prince William shared it can be quite the wake-up call…

“Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played in the morning,” William says on a special Christmas episode of Apple Fitness+’s Time to Walk series, which premieres on Dec. 6.

“And I have to, now, basically prioritize that one day someone does this one, and another day it’s someone else’s turn. So George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the clamor for the music.”

“One of the songs that the children are loving at the moment is Shakira, ‘Waka Waka,’ ” William shares. “There’s a lot of hip movements going along. There’s a lot of dressing up.”

“Charlotte, particularly, is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet stuff and everything,” the father of three goes on to share. “She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing.

“It’s a really happy moment where the children just enjoy dancing, messing around, and, and singing.”
