Rihanna and A$AP Rocky weren’t going to make their fanbase wait long before revealing the name of their second child. While we admit we were getting anxious, the secret is finally out – the little boy’s name is Riot Rose Mayers and he was born on August 1, according to a birth certificate obtained by TMZ.
Initial reports suggested the baby was born on August 3 and, while it was close, they were two days off. Riot, who celebrated his first month of living last week, already has a big brother to look up to and learn from – Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child, RZA Athelston Mayers, on May 13, 2022.
The big reveal comes just two weeks after A$AP Rocky was spotted in West Hollywood, where TMZ reporters congratulated him on the baby – to which Rocky responded, “Thank you brother” – and asked him if there was any name yet – to which he responded, “Coming soon.” He stayed true to that promise.

None of us knew Rihanna was pregnant with the couple’s second child until she debuted her baby bump during her Super Bowl LVII halftime performance on February 12, 2023. She did a great job of keeping the secret in-house and had fans – including us! – appalled when they finally put two-and-two together.
While she called the performance ‘scary,’ considering she hadn’t performed for seven years prior to that, she said there was ‘something exhilarating about the challenge of it all’ during a press conference leading up to the big game. “It’s important for representation. It’s important for my son to see that,” she continued.
Little did we know she wasn’t going to be alone on that stage – she had one son watching from afar and another son cookin’ on stage with her. And she did her family justice, turning in what is now officially the most-watched halftime show performance in Super Bowl history – more than 121 million people watched!
Now that we know the name of her second child, there’s one thing we’re still waiting on – that first baby photo. Of course, that’ll come in due time as Rihanna and A$AP Rocky transition from being a family of three to a family of four. As much as we want to see the baby, it’s important we give them time to adjust!
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Bond Continues to Grow Stronger
On August 24, when news of the baby’s arrival first went viral, a source for ET warned us not to expect much from the newly-minted parents of two. “Rihanna and A$AP will spend the early days of parenthood out of the public eye and won’t make any immediate plans to debut the new baby,” the source said.
Another source said the parents ‘are great right now,’ are ‘excited to grow their family,’ and are ‘so united when it comes to parenting.’ “They have so much fun together and are very in love. They already shared a special connection and parenting together has made their bond even stronger,” the source added.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have long been friends and collaborators – they first worked together back in 2012. Of course, it wasn’t until 2018 that romance rumors started heating up and it wasn’t until 2020 that they went public with their romance – following Rihanna’s breakup with then-boyfriend Hassan Jameel.
