Ryan Reynolds Gives Update on Blake Lively and Newest Addition of the Family: ‘Everybody’s Doing Great’

In case you haven’t heard the news, Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, discreetly announced the birth of their fourth child on Super Bowl weekend. While they didn’t share the baby’s birth date, gender, name, or photo, Blake did post a photo with her husband and his mother – without a baby bump.

On Monday, Reynolds gave a brief update on how his household is adjusting to the newest addition in an interview with Tyler Mathisen and Kelly Evans of CNBC’s Power Lunch. He shared that they’re ‘very excited’ and that ‘everybody’s doing great’ – emphasizing that ‘everybody’s actually doing fantastic.’

“Look, we wouldn’t do this four times if we didn’t love it,” the 46-year-old Deadpool actor said. “I think if we hadn’t figured it out by now, I think we’d be in deep, deep trouble.” He likened his household to a ‘zoo’ – something many parents can relate to – as he gave the interview in what appeared to be his kitchen.

At one point in the interview, host Tyler Mathisen tried to squeeze a little more information out of the new father – but he wasn’t budging. “I ain’t telling, this ain’t a birth announcement!” said Ryan Reynolds after being asked if they gave birth to a boy or a girl. To be fair, the interview was about business, not pleasure.

Whichever gender the new baby is, he/she will have three big sisters ready to love him/her right out the gate. The couple, who got married in September 2012, gave birth to James on December 16, 2014, Inez on September 30, 2016, and Betty on October 4, 2019 – all of whom were born in the fall/winter.

While fans are still waiting for more information on the newest child – name, gender, birthday, photo – a ‘source’ reached out to PEOPLE to confirm they’re adjusting well after going from a family of 5 to a family of 6. “They are very excited about the new baby. The older siblings have adjusted great,” they said.

“Blake is the best mom. She is surrounded by friends that shower her with gifts for all the kids. She and Ryan are a favorite couple. It’s a goal for many of Blake’s friends to have what she has,” the unnamed source continued – also calling Ryan a ‘great dad’ and ‘very sweet to Blake.’ We’re so happy for the two!

Ryan Reynolds Had a Busy Past Few Days

As any new father can relate to, Ryan Reynolds has his hands full with his newest child. Like with his last three children, it doesn’t seem to be getting in the way of his daily grind. Keep in mind, this is someone who co-owns a football club, has a flurry of business ventures, and is a marquee Hollywood actor.

Just a few days ago, it was announced that Ryan Reynolds will have a new villain to defeat in the newest edition of the Deadpool series. The film is expected to contain a lot of multiverse connections, but he’ll also be starring alongside Hugh Jackman, with actress Emma Corrin being cast as the newest villain.

Not only that but it was recently announced that Amazon’s Prime Video will be teaming up with Ryan Reynolds and Colin Hanks for an upcoming documentary about the late comedian John Candy – who tragically died of a heart attack in 1994. Reynolds is acting as a producer alongside George Dewey.

To top it all off, Reynolds recently announced his intent to one day become an NHL owner. He’ll be joining a consortium – led by The Remington Group, a real estate development company based in Toronto – that is expected to put their bid in for the Ottawa Senators. I mean, the man just doesn’t ever stop, does he?!
