Telling family and friends you are pregnant can be one of the most exciting parts of pregnancy. Read below some of the ways members of the community shared their special news.
“I made my daughter a shirt that said “Big Sister”. We went to dinner with my parents and younger brothers but I didn’t say a word. Partway through dinner, my mom read my daughter’s shirt. It was low-key but fun.“
“My daughter wore a onesie that said “Every superhero needs a sidekick. Mine arrives in March”
“Don’t tell. See how long it takes them to figure it out. I was over 4 months before anyone knew. It was a nice secret to have for a while.“
“I bought my son a shirt that said, “only child” that was crossed out and below that, it said “big brother. I told the grandparents that Mason wanted to show them his new shirt. They all freaked out! It was so fun and amazing. Plus I still have the shirt.”
“If it’s your first, find a way to tell everyone in person. I had family members get angry that they found out on Facebook. Looking back, I personally don’t care now because their true colors have shown through the years.“
“Dad was throwing mom a surprise party! I added my own surprise. I had this printed and framed, put it in a gift bag with my 1st positive test and it was a hit. Now that I have gotten an ultrasound sound done we are not due until May.“
Pregnancy announcement reveals. Gender reveal announcements. These are some fairly new concepts. Of course, they were always happening, but they were never glamorized or shared so widely as we see today. (Thanks, social media!) They have become something as natural as planning a baby shower. The pregnancy announcement ideas are endless and so sweet. Honestly though, no matter how you announce a new baby, it will be exciting. Do what feels right for you and your family, and you’ll be set.
