Sadly, a GoFundMe account set up in Thomas’s honor confirmed that the TikToker had passed away on March 17, 2023. As the organizer of the GoFundMe account revealed, “her passing was totally unexpected and we are all absolutely heartbroken.”

As Thomas shared with her followers over the last couple of months, the mom dealt with horrific and debilitating migraines for years. It was only recently that she had been diagnosed with optic neuritis.

According to the Mayo Clinic, “Optic neuritis occurs when swelling (inflammation) damages the optic nerve — a bundle of nerve fibers that transmits visual information from your eye to your brain.” The causes of optic neuritis is not currently unknown.

In a past TikTok, Thomas revealed that she “was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis a few months ago after nearly 2 years of being told my migraines were stress related.” She continued, adding, “they then thought I had MS which was ruled out (for now) but now the pressure in my head literally takes me off my feet.”

Just days before her unexpected passing, Thomas had spent most of her days in a hospital searching for answers to her pain. Thomas first entered the hospital to have a CT scan on March 6 which began a week-long stint in the institution.

She was later discharged on March 12, only to return on March 14. Her last TikTok was shared on March 15, when she revealed to her followers that she was waiting to have surgery and that her pain was “horrific.”

As Alyx Reast continued on the GoFundMe page, she wrote that she is raising money for Thomas’s “two children, Isaac (3, almost 4), and Elijah (1), [who] have been left without their mum.”

“I’ve started this page in the hope of raising some money so her beautiful boys can have the best childhood, make memories and make sure they are comfortable. Nothing will bring the boys their mum back, but we hope it will bring some relief to her family, knowing how loved and supported they are.”

You are everything good in the world, im gonna miss you every single day ????

Reast then shared a personal message to her late friend. “Jehane, I promised I’d do what I can for those boys, so that’s what I’m vowing to do. I love you.”

As Reast shared on her own TikTok account, those closest to Jehane will be celebrating her life with a balloon released on March 24. While her cause of death is linked to her battle with migraines, it is not clear if Jehane was in surgery at the time of her passing.
