Zach Braff is praising Florence Pugh for shutting down haters in regards to their relationship, stating he felt he should remain silent after her initial response.
Florence defended her relationship with Zach earlier in the year after their 21-year age gap came under fire.
“I’m 24 years old. I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love,” Florence stated in a video posted to Instagram.
“It is not your place and really it has nothing to do with you.”
Later in an interview with Elle, after the initial backlash, Florence went on to call the criticism and hate “bizarre,” reiterating how nobody had any say to “educate” her on her relationships.

“People have no right to educate me on my private life,” she stated.
“I know that part of being in the spotlight is that people might invade your privacy and have opinions on it, but it’s bizarre that normal folk are allowed to display such hate and opinions on a part of my life that I’m not putting out there.”
And while Florence had been very vocal about the criticism of their relationship, Zach decided to be mum on the subject.

That is, until the actor revealed that his choice to remain silent was due to the fact that he didn’t see how he could follow his girlfriend’s perfectly articulated statement.
“She literally sat down, hit record on her phone and said that,” Zach told Mr Porter. “I thought: How could I possibly follow anything as intelligent and articulate as that? So I chose not to.”
Zach then confirmed that he and Florence are still in a good place, revealing they had recently spent time with her family in the UK, and even flown their dog over from LA.
