Just before the start of the New Year, comedian Amy Schumer revealed that she passed down one of her beloved possession from her childhood to her son. And while the gesture is sweet, the doll she ultimately gave her son can only be described in one way, terrifying.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in May, Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer welcomed their first child into the world together, now 7-month-old Gene Attell. And ever since becoming a mom, Schumer has been all about her baby boy.

However, fans started getting terrifying flashbacks after Schumer took to Instagram a few days ago to remind the world of her beloved doll, Pokey. She also revealed that she was finally ready to move on, giving Pokey to Gene so that they could start making memories together.

Schumer’s fans first met Pokey in 2016, Buzzfeed reports. While a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the pair played a game called “Explain This Photo.” It’s a game where they each take turns going through each other’s phones and choosing images the other has to explain.

One of the pictures that popped up was a picture of some of Amy’s old stuffed animals, including Pokey, as well as actress Tilda Swinton and Tilda’s partner, Sandro Kopp, who paints stuffed animals.

Schumer told Fallon that the picture was snapped after she commissioned Sandro to paint her stuffed childhood friends. And despite the fact that Pokey is indeed terrifying, Schumer admitted that “that doll has comforted me through several divorces.”

Three years later, Schumer took to Instagram to reveal that she has officially given Pokey to her son. She wrote, “Pokey has been scaring children since 1948.”

And judging by the comments section, it’s not just scaring children, but also adults too. One person wrote, “I would have died if I had that as a child.” And another added, “Holy that little doll is terrifying.”

While on Fallon three years ago, Schumer joked that she was never invited to sleepovers as a child and Pokey might be to blame. Let’s just hope Gene doesn’t have that same problem.
