According to court documents filed by the state patrol, the incident happened on May 6 in a bathroom at the Smithfield Foods pork processing plant in Milan.

Kambamba, after giving birth to the boy in the toilet, informed investigators that she saw the baby moving in the water, but sat down again due to ongoing labor contractions.

The woman then allegedly said she did not look at the baby again until about 30 minutes later when a workplace nurse entered the bathroom, according to the documents.
