Hassan Haskins, an NFL running back who played in 15 games for the Tennessee Titans last season, has been arrested. The 23-year-old was arrested on June 22 after an incident with his girlfriend, Makia Green. The couple got into a fight after Green allegedly liked a photo of another male on Instagram.
Arrest affidavits confirmed that Haskins was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was jailed before posting a $10,000 bond and was subsequently released from the Titans.
Haskins isn’t the only one facing punishment over the incident. Green, 20, was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and felony vandalism – she posted a $7,500 bail later that day. Both parties are scheduled to appear in court on July 10 in front of Davidson County Judge Ana Escobar.

The two arrest affidavits detail a violent fight that began when Makia Green was caught liking a photo of another male on Instagram. Green went into their closet and started throwing his shoes on the ground before she was pushed to the ground – hitting the back of her head. That’s when things escalated even further.
They continued to physically harm one another – she kicked him, he strangled her for about 10-15 seconds, she slapped him, and he threw her on top of a dog crate. Green sustained bruising on her right cheek, a scratch on her neck, and bruises on her arm before leaving the house.
Later that night, the two were both at a steakhouse when a second argument began. They left the steakhouse separately, with Green taking an Uber before the fight continued. She walked into the house and threw a glass cup at Haskins before running to her room and closing the door.
Haskins punched and kicked the door down and broke her phone. She broke his necklace and turned on Haskins’ old phone to call her mother but found a plethora of nude photos and messages from other girls – so she broke it and was about to slash the tires to his vehicle before he cocked a gun and dared her to.
Hassan Haskins Had Just Started His Career in the NFL
Hassan Haskins was drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 131 overall pick in the 4th round of the 2022 NFL Draft – he played three years of college football at the University of Michigan. He appeared in 15 games for the Titans as a rookie, but only accumulated 93 rushing yards and 57 receiving yards.
He was immediately released from the team following his arrest.
After speaking to police, Haskins’ account of what happened that night was similar to that of his girlfriend. He did, however, add that Green allegedly hit him with a broom (leaving a lump on his back), threw his PS5 through a wall, strangled him from behind, and threw a water bottle at him. Green reportedly didn’t mention any of that.
