People Are Getting COVID Vaccine Tattoos, Check Them Out!

It’s been a weird couple of years and one thing is certain, people’s opinions about vaccines are very strong. So strong in fact, that people have started getting vaccine tattoos. Yes, following the rollout of the life-saving vaccines people began to shake off their pandemic fear and embrace tattoos that celebrate the miraculous, scientific achievement.

We wanted to get a better understanding of these vaccine tattoos, the trends around them, and how people are expressing their elation about getting jabbed. We discovered some delightfully weird tattoos that run the gamut from serious to humorous. Take a look at these delightfully weird curiosities!

Vaccine Flash

Tattoo artists create what’s called “flash” which are pre-drawn designs that patrons can choose from. Here, we find some options available from @neithernour. Would you get one?

Syringe

By far, the most popular vaccine tattoo trend we saw is syringes. We encountered all manner of syringes containing all sorts of interesting things. This one has paradise inside. You’ll see many other options as this list continues.

“Corona” Vaccine

Remember when sales for Corona beer tanked at the start of the pandemic? Thankfully, that was just a blip and the beer had a banner year in 2020. That did not stop this person from joking about with a syringe filled with the beverage that’s piercing a lime wedge.

A Whole Mood

Well, here’s a lot of pandemic imagery. For a time, it was believed that a bat might have been the cause of the virus. It’s still unclear how this pandemic started, however. That’s not stopping people from using bat imagery with their vaccine tattoos.

Bull’s Eye

Here’s a strange one! We find two shots landing on a bull’s eye. Most of us who took the vaccine received a two-dose inoculation. This vaccine tattoo illustrates just that.

From Cuba

Here’s a vaccine tattoo from our friends down in Puerto Rico. We’re not entirely sure what is going on with those purple ribbons but it is a beautiful tattoo.

A Vial

How about this photorealistic vial? It’s a stunning tattoo and, given the subject matter, a great effort on the part of the artist to make it appear truly realistic.

From Taiwan

Here’s a vaccine tattoo that hails all the way from Taiwan. The middle finger as a syringe is rather curious here. But, there’s real skill on display with this design.

Vaxxed

“Vaxxed,” this tattoo says. We find a crying coronavirus here along with some skulls and crossbones for good measure. There’s no missing the meaning of this vaccine tattoo.

Shoot Your Shot

Okay! We don’t exactly know what that humanoid figure hanging onto the syringe is doing, but do we even care? It’s an interesting work of art that’s open for interpretation.

The Key

Again, we find another strange vaccine tattoo, this time a syringe has taken the form of a key. Perhaps this is supposed to symbolize vaccines as the “keys” to the end of the pandemic?

Skeletal

Here’s a fun one that finds a skeletal hand holding a syringe with blue liquid inside. Big, bold, thick, black lines help make this vaccine tattoo a real standout.

Nurse

Here’s a beautiful traditional style tattoo that finds a nurse (our hero), a syringe, and a red rose. If you like traditional tattooing that elevates bold lines, simple shapes, and timeless motifs, go traditional with your design.

With Pretty Flowers

Here’s another one of the syringe tattoos. We promised you there would be plenty! This one is improves by the gorgeous white and blue flowers that flank the medicine.

“I survived a global pandemic and all I got was this stupid tttooo,” this design says. It’s a funny one among some serious contenders. If you’ve still got your sense of humor after all of this, go ahead and crack a joke in ink form.

A Shot of Love

Here’s a rather traditional approach to a tattoo that finds a beautiful hand holding an old school syringe. Take a closer look at the liquid inside of it and you will find pink hearts floating.

Right In the Virus

There are no bells and whistles with this design that finds a coronavirus represented by a red element with the vaccine being pumped directly into it. If you know the point you want to make, you don’t have to beat around the bush.

A Bandage

One of our favorite types of vaccine tattoos are these cute bandages with a heart. It’s a mildly common design you will see among these tattoos. Did anyone else feel love when they got their first shot?

Slay the Virus

We find a sword piercing a coronavirus in this design that, again, isn’t leaving much to the imagination. Get right to the message you want to convey and don’t look back.

Here They Are

“Here are mine, where are yours?” this tattoo says. The two syringes contained within the text signify the two doses of vaccine this person has taken. it’s a great design that encourages others to do their part.

Another Vial

Does anyone else like these vial tattoos? We think they look smart and given the topic feel most appropriate. This one contains the. vaccine developed by AstraZeneca. How about that?

A Half-Sleeve

This person has taken the opportunity to turn the pandemic into a topic for an entire half-sleeve tattoo. it’s one of the few we encountered like this. Would you want something similar or just a small token to symbolize the chaos the past couple of years have entailed?

Order Among the Chaos

Speaking of chaos, we find plenty of it here with swirling blue and black lines as well as some ghostly figures you will see if you take a closer look. Amid all of that visual business, we see a Moderna vaccine.

Kawaii Vaccine Tattoo

We are big fans of kawaii, which is the Japanese culture of cute. This is, by far, the cutest syringe we’ve ever seen. It’s complete with a pink bow and some floating hearts near the point of the needle. Okay!

Good Riddance

We leave you with this tattoo from Chile. You’ll notice that the virus here is wearing a crown, a nod to “corona” which means the same thing. It’s having a tough time under a bandage that’s sealed with a heart.
